The Creative Sphere
When your work as an artist and creative professional changes unexpectedly, it can take time for your mind and body to feel aligned with the change. During this "catch-up" phase, you might feel lost in the liminal space between where you were and where your life is taking you. As a result, it's common to feel lost, out of control, and confused as you navigate your creative output under these new circumstances, even if you wanted or planned for the change.
It's normal for your defense mechanisms to kick in and try to protect you from expanding into a new expression of yourself. Fears will arise, self doubt takes hold, and life can feel overwhelming and directionless.
Congratulations! You are expanding!
I know you want to feel grounded, confident, and sure of yourself. As an artist, you have much you want to express and create. Trusting your creative process will yield deeper alignment with yourself, allowing you to build a body of authentic work that also provides financial stability.
All of this is possible if you can live in the liminal space for a moment.
The word liminal comes from the Latin word "threshold." A threshold is a door or gap between two spaces. So, the term's origins are literally: "a threshold between two spaces." A liminal space is often uncomfortable and disorienting. It is characterized by uncertainty because you don't know what will come when you cross the threshold into the new expression of your life.
I've learned from holding this liminal space for others that great wisdom emerges when we relax into it. I don't need or want to give my clients advice because the brilliance of this liminal space provides the information each client needs for their particular journey, and it emerges from within them.
If you are on the threshold of a new expansive expression of your creative work and experiencing resistance, fear, and doubt about letting go of the old and finding your way through to your essence, I've designed a process for you.
